Scope and Contents
Papers and correspondence concerning the Nursery Action Group, including:
1) press cuttings: Cambridge Evening News 1 November 1973, 'Playgroup for Techstudents' Children'; letter to The Times, 10 June 1975, entitled 'Student Protest at Cambridge', from Joseph Needham, Master of Gonville and Caius College, concerning a sit-in at the Senate House held by the Nursery Action Group on 3 June 1975 in protest against the lack of University nursery facilities;
2) 'The Nursery Action Group Report' April 1975 [NAG was formed to press for the establishment of nursery and creche facilities for the children of students, employees and academic staff of Cambridge University and the colleges], 10pp ts;
3) NAG statement: 2pp ts account of NAG's aims and demands written in the wake of the 1975 sit-in protest;
4) Questionnaire entitled 'Children at the Tech?', concerning nursery requirements (no date), compiled by the Cambridge College of Arts and Technology Women's Liberation Group;
5) 3pp ts of short accounts [by CCAT students?] of their study and job aspirations and related needs for childcare.
6) printed notice by the Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University on ‘The Sit-In in the Senate House on 3 June 1975’, ie a sit-in by members of the Nursery Action Group demanding nursery facilities for the children of students and staff of the University.
