Scope and Contents
Established in November 1968 as an explicitly left wing and radical alternative student paper by Cambridge students, who are unnamed. This edition advertises a copy meeting to be held at Pembroke College. Articles include:
Two Quid Con Trick - concerns the £2 wage increase freeze;
Socialist Society programme [a University society];
Science in Society Group;
Ireland;
Ugandan Asians;
Women's Lib (background to the Women's Liberation Movement in Cambridge - 'They called themselves Scarlet Women. They were University people and they came to Newnham every Friday - There already existed a group in the town, named 'Women are People' - ');
Red Medics / Medicine in Society;
Squatters (Cambridge Squatters article concerning squats at 48 Milton Road and 16 John Street).
