Scope and Contents
Correspondence relating to Sheila Crawford's application to study at Girton and with her local County Council and School regarding scholarship funding. Includes:
1) typescript reference for SC from the Senior Mistress at Bingley Grammar School, 20 February 1941;
2) typescript letter from K M Peace (Staff 1933) offering a place to study at Girton from October 1941, 26 March 1941;
3) typescript letter from K M E Murray (Teaching Staff 1938), 14 July 1941, enclosing a General Information leaflet for new students (dated July 1941). [This includes instructions for students to provide their own blackout curtains to meet ARP regulations];
4) County Scholarship correspondence with West Riding County Council;
5) further correspondence with K M Peace concerning funding and arrangements for arrival, including a printed leaflet from Girton College: 'Average Cost of a Three Years' Course';
6) funding correspondence with Bingley Grammar School Trust;
7) manuscript letter from M L Tomlinson (Teaching Staff 1935) enclosing SC's first year examination results (June 1942).
