'The 1st title to a messuage and 14½a. of land late Graves's, is but a Strained Title
2nd Title to 9a. arable land and meadow, late Wiseman's: Good, but very Modern. The first free Deed in 1723.
3rd title to 12a. of arable land and meadow, late Jordan's, also a Modern Title.
Nevertheless upon the whole, I think, as Mr Marshall has been in Quiet Possession abouve 20 years, that in Virtue of the 21st Jac. 1st, C.16th, called the Statute of Limitations, and Fine levied at his purchase of the first Estate . . . The Title may pass with Mr Marshall's levying a Fine and giving a Bond of Performnace, he being a Man of Substance.'
