Sent for digitisation on 11-12-2023. The physical carrier was labelled as VHS 13 for digitisation. The process of digitisation resulted in the creation of one file labelled [LS_DLS_R_1997_5_1] Ladefoged_VHS. Digital versions of talks are currently unavailable for researchers.
Comments on Audio= There is prominent background hiss which seems to change intensity based on the speech pattern of the person talking. Sound levels are low but seems to slightly increase during the masters speech. Some of the examples of sounds in different languages my be harder to distinguish due to quality of recording.
Comments on video= There is visual noise throughout with head switching noise at the bottom of the screen. Intermittent flashes of dropout (horizontal white lines) appear throughout. The picture intermittently skips (possible sync loss) and then returns to normal.
