Biographical / Historical

Patrick Bateson is a biologist with a focus on ethology and phenotypic plasticity.
He studied at King's College, Cambridge, from 1957 studying natural sciences and going on to complete a PhD concerning animal behaviour. He returned to King's College Cambridge as a junior research fellow as well as taking up a junior lecturer post within the Cambridge University Zoology Department. He was provost of King's College for 15 years starting in 1988.
