Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT), the dedicated charity for Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie, is marking its ten year anniversary with a Wizard of Oz themed ball on Saturday 7 March. The ball, which takes place at Cambridge City Hotel, is being organised by Brains of Cambridge, a group of Entrepreneurial Studies students from Anglia Ruskin University.

The ball is raising money for ACT's neurosurgery microscope appeal, which aims to raise £304,369 to fund a new state-of-the-art neurosurgical microscope that uses fluorescent light technology to improve surgery for brain tumours and brain aneurysms.

This innovative technology helps surgeons to see highly magnified brain tissue that would otherwise be invisible to the human eye.
