Scope and Contents
Records their grant to God, the church of St Mary de pratis of Creake, and Godfrey the abbot and the convent there.
42 ac. land with appurtenances in Burnhamtorp, comprising 14 ac. at Hameldon; 9 ac. at Seughighoe; 10 ac. at Clerkeshoe; 9 ac. which belonged to Hugh le Porter lying in 19 pieces (of which 1 lies at Thysdale, 1 at Burnhamgate, 1 at Norneborg, 1 at Dudmanneslond, 1 at Sondhildal, 1 at Spytelhus, 1 at Blakelond, 2 at Mikelhoe, 1 at the head of the croft of William Den, 1 at Linghoge, 1 at Kaldehoe, 1 on the east side of Spytelhus, 1 at Shortelond, 1 at Fysteshil, 2 at Oxelondesbotme, 1 at our mill, 1 at Wolverwong', as they have more or less in those pieces.
Also confirms the donations of the cultura with appurtenances called Suthcroft with the meadow abutting on it to the east which Ralph de Burham gave to teh abbot and convent with his body, saving the herbage of 5 ac. of land of that cultura to the north when the field lies fallow by custom; also all the cultura with appurtenances called Brimbtilcroft with the meadow abutting it to the west, and the watermill with site and pond within that town given by Philip de Burnham with his body, saving the multure of the grain and malt of their lordship of Burnhamtorp whenever they should wish to mill there.
Abbot and convent are not to claim any common of pasture in the lands of William and Cecilia in any way within the town.
Donors also remit 7s. rent in Harpelle (5s. 6d. paid for the tenement they hold from the donors' fee of the gift lately of Ralph de Dunton, knt., in Harpell, and 18d. paid for the tenement which they have of their fee by gift of William de Wygenhal in Harpell, and saving the customs and services due from those tenements).
Warranty.
The abbot and convent are to find for the donors and their heirs in perpetuity 1 canon or other suitable chaplain to say mass daily in the chapel situated in the donor's 'curia' at Burnhamtorp, as set out in a certain writing.
