Scope and Contents
Includes: two letters in Dutch from the Ministry of Justice relating to Harry and Derrick's service; certificates of commission as Temporary Acting Sub-Lieutenant, 3 December 1943; certificate of service of Harry Orme Dooyewaard (with full details of naval postings and ships), 1940-44; photographs and details of several naval ships, including HMS Cottesmore ('Harry's first ship') and tug 'Roode Zee', on which Harry was serving when it was torpedoed and sunk in April 1944 while towing Mulberry Harbour components in preparation for the Normandy (D-Day) landings; presscutting about German attacks and the sinking of allied ships (presumably including the 'Roode Zee', April 1944); Morse Code booklet; and two commemorative booklets relating to the Chatham Naval Memorial.

Conditions Governing Access
Some records series are subject to confidentiality restrictions with the following closure periods: 30 years from date of creation for general administration files, legal records and financial files; 50 years from date of creation for governmental records, including papers of the College Governing Body and College Council, and constituent committees; 100 years from date of creation for personal and personnel records, including tutorial files, staff and fellows files and appointment records, personal finance and pension records. In addition sensitive correspondence and papers concerning College affairs such as disputes and disciplinary matters are closed for 100 years. Restrictions apply on some personal and private papers.
