Governmental records are closed for 50 years from date of creation, except for those dealing with elections, tutorial matters and appointments which are closed for 100 years.
Biographical / Historical
After Sir Jacob Garrard Downing died in 1764 and the Chancery cause was initiated to establish Downing College, the University of Cambridge appointed a syndicate to superintend the Downing cause. This consisted of University members, and later included Downing College members.
