Biographical / Historical
The government of the College lies effectively in the hands of the Governing Body of which the Master is chairman and the Fellows are voting members. The term Governing Body first appeared in Downing's 1882 revision of the Statutes but the corporate body comprising "The Master, Professors and Fellows" was set up in the foundation charter of the College. The various committees involved in the running of the College all ultimately feed their reports and recommendations into the Governing Body (GB).
