Covenant prior to a fine [deed to lead uses of a fine?]
Whereas a fine with proclamations is agreed to be sued in Trinity term next ensuing between 2., 3., 4., and 5. (demandants), against 1., of 5 messuages, 1 curtilage, 2 barns, 5 yards, 6 orchards, 18 acres of land, 2 acres of marsh, 6 acres of meadow and 15 acres of pasture plus appurtenances, in Dunwich, Petistry alias Pistry [Pettistree], Hasketon next to Woodbridge, and Ottley [Otley]:
1 messuage and 1 barn and all lands and premises pertaining of c. 12 acres, part being heretofore the land of Thomas Eade and part land of William Farrer; to the use of Elizabeth Damont, wife of Robert Damont, for her natural life and thereafter to use of Mary, wife of Thomas Goodale, and to John Minter, and their heirs.
1 messuage in Petistry or Pistry of c. 4 acres, in tenure of the Widow Wells, late the land of William Oldus and Blanche his wife; to the use of said Elizabeth Damont for her natural life and thereafter to Thomas Goodale, son of Thomas Goodale, party to these presents.
1 parcel of land called Parkwards, late of James Farrer, of c. 8 acres, with messuage built upon it, in Hasketon next Woodbridge, now in occupation of George Driver, plus other pieces of land; to the use of said Elizabeth Damont for her natural life and thereafter to Elizabeth Goodale, daughter of Thomas Goodale, party to these presents.
1 messuage and 1 barn in Hasketon next Woodbridge, of c. 12 acres, now in occupation of George Raymer, plus other pieces of land; to use of said Elizabeth Damont for her natural life and thereafter to John Deverson and his lawful heirs, in absence of which to Mary Goodale, wife of Thomas Goodale and her heirs for ever.
For all that part of the messuage or tenement called Walles in Ottley, late in tenure of John Talmache, now in tenure of John Chaplin, plus all houses, edifices, buildings, shopps, barnes, stables etc, with ingress, egress and regress to and from wood late of John Talmache, now of John Chaplin; which was sold by indenture of bargain and sale dated 7 Feb 1661/2 by John Talmache and Mary, his wife, and Lawrence Mullmer of Ipswich, Gent., to John Chaplin; plus other pieces of land; to use of John Chaplin and his heirs.
Endorsed: 'Evidences for Mr Thomas Goodale's estate in Dunwich'.
