Scope and Contents

PROBATE OF WILL of Thomas Mayear the elder, of Dunwich, Suffolk, Merchant. Body to be buried at churchyard of St Peter, Dunwich. Bequests include: to Thomas Mayear, his son, most of lands in Dunwich and Burgate [Burgh?], Suffolk, including land first purchased of Michael Cowper called Little Bunes [Bimes?] , land purchased of James Gathercole and also close called Burnt Close. Bequeathes to William Farrer, his son in law, and Elizabeth, his daughter, tenement, land and ground lately purchased of Michael Cowper in Dunwich, plus three pieces of land containing about 4 acres, 2 acres and 1 acre respectively. Other bequests include to poor of Dunwich and Burgate
