Biographical / Historical

Thomas Alfred Walker was admitted a pensioner at Peterhouse on 1 Oct. 1882. Only son of William Davenport Walker, Esq., deceased, of Bowdon, Cheshire, and Margaret, eldest daughter of Thomas Norbury, of Bowdon. Born 16 Feb. 1862. School, Rose Hill, Bowdon and Owens College, Manchester, whence he was B.A. 1882; M.A. 1885; and Litt.D., 1900. Matriculated at Cambridge at Michaelmas 1882; Scholar; Lightfoot Scholar, 1884; Whewell Scholar, 1884; B.A. 1885; (Historical Tripos, 1st Class, 1885; Law Tripos, 1st Class, 1886); LL.B. 1886; M.A. and LL.M., 1889; LL.D. 1895. Fellow, 1886; Tutor, 1897-1907; Dean, Bursar and Librarian, 1904-24. Junior Proctor, 1892-3; Senior Proctor, 1901-2. Adm. at the Middle Temple, 1886.
