Carbon copy of letter to Power Jets, 1940-02-29
Scope and Contents
At the meeting on 24 February it was suggested that work on the W2 engine covered by their order of 28 September 1939 should be held in abeyance until a decision was reached in regard to the 8 trial engines which might be ordered very soon by the Air Ministry. While this would avoid unnecessary expense and some duplication of work, it would cause a loss of time in respect of completing the manufacturing drawings for the W2. BT-H's Drawing Office will be in a position to take in hand next week the work entailed in the preparation of manufacturing drawings for this engine based on the layouts received from Power Jets on 22 February. BT-H will put the drawings in hand, on the same terms as before, on receipt of instructions to this effect.
