Rose has spent a great deal of time cutting down his Appendices and hopes that 'the slaughter will appease Waller'. He discusses the contents of his bibliography. He thinks he has to thank Ward's secretary for typing the Swedish Appendix which he now wishes to come before the Turkish one.
