Scope and Contents
The committee was consecutively named the Religious Knowledge, Bible Knowledge, and Religious Studies Subject Committee until finally renamed as the Religious Studies Subject Committee in 1970. Bible Knowledge was first examined in 1958 after the introduction of the Islamic Religious Knowledge examination for oversea centres. Examinations created specifically for overseas centres are included in S/RS 1/5.
