Letter to Sassoon from 'Dick' [Richard de la Mare] at Faber & Faber, London, concerning typescripts of chapters and a frontispiece for a book by Sassoon which Faber & Faber were to publish [?'The Weald of Youth'].

The collection largely comprises letters addressed to Sassoon although there are few other recipients such as Glen Byam Shaw and Georgiana Theresa Thornycroft, Siegfried Sassoon's mother. There are also some postcards; draft and unpublished copies of poems; bills; and other related papers.

Congratulating Sassoon on his CBE, and upbraiding him for allowing 'this long silence to collect itself' around him; discussing his own experience as 'a would-be poet' and his role in supporting 'genius or talent'; and enquiring whether Walter de la Mare had shown him his new work, 'Winged Chariot'.

Praising 'The Old Century' as 'altogether delicious' and requesting that Sassoon approve a blurb and two minor changes to Greek translations from the text.
