Biography
Stanley Morison (1889-1967) was the preeminent authority on typography in Britain in the 20th century. Besides his many publications, his influence was exerted partly through his positions as a consultant to the Monotype Corporation, to The Times newspaper (for which he designed Times Roman in 1932), and to the University Press, Cambridge.

Small notebook with examples of printers' flowers pasted in and notes on each. Some notes are by Meynell and others by Stanley Morison. It was removed from a folder marked by Meynell 'F.M.'s preliminary notes on history of fleurons (for 1st no. of Fleuron) amended and amplified by S.M.' Some further notes on 2 loose sheets are laid in.
