Pope's letters praise Joseph Needham's work and discuss work by Lauriston Ward entitled including an article entitled 'Relative Chronology of China'. The documents also include a copy of a letter sent by Pope to Ward about the article; copy of a letter by Pope published in the 'New York Herald Tribune' entitled 'Far East Crisis', 1 May 1955; copy of Pope's reply to a 'review by Maenchen of Dr. Ackerman's work on the ritual bronzes', published in the 'The Art Bulletin', March 1947.
