108 x 150 mm. A photographic copy of a painting showing Yap Ah Loy seated beside a table. The photograph is reproduced from a painting in the Yap Kongsi, Kuala Lumpur. Yap Ah Loy (1887-1885), a Chinese businessman, entrepreneur and administrator in Selangor, was born in Kwantung and came to Malaya in 1854, and to Kuala Lumpur in 1862. He was Capitan China in Kuala Lumpur from 1869-1885.
