This volume contains income and expenditure details including the Horobin Annuity, the building of New Street School (pp. 140, 141), Morley Memorial School, investments, superannuation, maintenance, reserve account and purchase liability account. Writings at the beginning of the volume contain details about the board structure and decisions during this time; "the Board of Management of Homerton New College, commonly known as the Congregation Board of Education".

Scope and Contents This volume contains minutes of meetings of the Congregational Board of Education between 19 January 1883 and 10 April 1889, corresponding with the time period before and after the College's move to Cambridge. Recorded details include "whether the Board would be allowed reserve of right to reveal to the [?] organization or to deal with men and women as separate Colleges if they should decide to try the experiment of organizing Cavendish as a College for one sex."
