Biography

B. Hallward read Classics at Kings College, Cambridge, became a Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambridge then Headmaster of Clifton College, Bristol (1938-1948). He was appointed the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham in 1948.
