Biography

Jeanie Adam was born in 1866 in Keithhall, Aberdeenshire. She was a teacher who for a time was employed as a governess for the family of Thomas Cecil Farrer. She died in 1932 in Inverurie.

Scope and Contents Contains two letters from Jeanie Adam to Ida Darwin. The first is dated 1 November 1902 and was sent from Abinger Hall, Dorking, the family home of Ida's father. The letter gives news of Ida's two nieces, Frances Margaret 'Fanny' Farrer (1895-1977) and Katherine Dianthe 'Kitty' Farrer (1896-1986) and encloses a letter from Kitty to Ida.
