Biography

Katherine Euphemia Wedgwood was born in 1839, one of six children of Hensleigh Wedgwood and Frances Emma Mackintosh. In 1873 she married Thomas Henry Farrer, 1st Baron Farrer following the death of his first wife in 1870. Katherine Farrer died in 1931.

Eleven letters sent from Katherine Euphemia Farrer to Ida Darwin and one sent to Horace Darwin between August 1910 and March 1914. The letters are written using a type of shorthand and are concerned with news of family, committee work and an account of activities undertaken by Katherine.
