Biography
Nigel Mervyn Sutherland Rich joined Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1974. He was appointed a General Manager in 1976, and was seconded that year to Rennies Consolidated Holdings Ltd in Johannesburg. He was transferred to Jardine Davies Inc., Manila, in 1977, becoming Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was a Director of Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd, 1984-1994, and the Managing Director of the company, 1989-1994.
