Biography
Robert Vernon Friend joined the Bangkok office of Jardine Waugh Ltd in 1963. He opened the Representative Office of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in Jakarta in 1972, and was the Manager of the company's operations in Indonesia. He worked subsequently for the firm's Head Office at Hong Kong.
