Biography
John Myers Spence joined Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1964, and was employed by the company in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, San Francisco, Singapore and Tokyo. He was appointed General Manager of Jardine Matheson Holdings (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1973, Assistant Company Secretary of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd in 1977, and an Executive Assistant to the Directors in 1980. He joined the Private Office of Matheson & Co. Ltd and was appointed a Director in 1983.
