The bound volume contains a transcription of the diary entries found in the exercise books listed at MS Add.10082/7-8 and multiple items pasted into the volume. These include Christmas cards, programmes for sporting events and entertainments, photographs, clippings from newspapers and magazines, pencilled sketches by HATF, hand-drawn coloured maps, printed maps. Bound volume of typescript letters sent from HATF to his wife, Florence Kathleen (nee Ogilvie) for the period 15 January 1917 to 26 December 1918. The letters begin on 15 January 1917 with HATF preparing to leave Southampton, England to return to service in Salonika and end with HATF leaving Malta on 26 December 1918 to return home following a three-month period of convalescence.
