Scope and Contents The Victoria Magazine was started by Emily Faithfull with Mr Gunning as a partner. It was not a financial success. The Family Chronicle contains reference to a note of 10 February 1863 from Miss Faithfull followed by correspondence and an interview. This led to an agreement between EF as publisher and Emily Davies as editor and signed by both, dated 15 March 1863 (Family Chronicle 288 a-b).
