The archive contains records of club governance and administration, including the first committee minute book from 1855, some financial and membership records, a significant quantity of material relating to productions and performances, and records relating to the wider activities of the club such as annual dinners and garden parties. There are notable gaps in the records, some of which for the period after August 1973 are filled in the archives of the ADC Theatre (see: UA/ADCT).

The majority of this class includes minute books and occasional account books of different societies and are housed in the Muniment Room. Typically, the minute books include constitution and lists of committee members, although some of the smaller societies (e.g. the Marguerites and the Crustaceans) list all members. Historically the photographs associated with clubs have been kept with the other pictures of college. They are thus stored and catalogued entirely separately.

Scope and Contents This series comprises one file for each student enrolled for a graduate degree. For the period 1920-37, files also survive for unsuccessful applicants for admission. Each file contains correspondence, circulars, references, supervisor's and examiners' reports, and occasionally degree certificates from other institutions, off-prints, and photographs. From the 1880s, administrative records of the burgeoning Department of Geology, its teaching, examining, and students, survive alongside papers for the lengthy project to build the Sedgwick Museum. The archives also include the papers of Professor T. McKenny Hughes, Woodwardian Professor 1873-1917.
