Scope and Contents The diplomatic letters and papers of Lord Hardinge of Penshurst, accumulated during his years in the Diplomatic Service. They include papers from his many foreign appointments including Constantinople, Tehran, St. Petersburg, and Paris. He served as Viceroy of India 1910-16 and a large amount of correspondence relates to this period. Scope and Contents This collection of correspondence and papers consists of 32 letters mainly written from Ingram to his mother, and copies of his and his mother's wills; some family photographs and newscuttings. There are a few childhood letters, followed by letters written to his mother from the legations to which he was posted, from Oslo, Berlin, Peking [i.e. Beijing] and Rome.
