'A Course of Philosophical Lectures by Tho. Whiteside A.M', 183 folios. The lectures are on mechanics. No Thomas Whiteside appears among the published lists of graduates of any university in the British Isles. This is evidently a mistake for John Whiteside (i.e. Tho. for Jho), who was giving such lectures in the early 18th century (see R.T. Gunther, Early science in Oxford, Vol. I). On fo. 1: 'Jno.
