Scope and Contents

Charles Marsden was Navigating Plotting Officer in HMS Southampton at the Battle of Jutland. He spent most of 31 May 1916 on the bridge of HMS Southampton and maintained the track chart. He was wounded during the action and the chart is marked with faint bloodstains.
