Letter from Craig Staudenbaur re a campus newspaper write-up of Vlastos' lecture at Michigan State University, 1967-02-20
Staudenbaur writes further on the means of circumventing the taking of a loyalty oath for Owen, as a British citizen. He encloses a newspaper review from Michigan State University's 'State News' of Vlastos' lecture for the Isenberg series.
Letter from Vlastos to Craig Staudenbaur rescinding his offer to give a lecture on account of a loyalty oath requirement by Michigan State University, 1967-01-27
Vlastos writes to Staudenbaur rescinding his offer to give a lecture if the requirement to swear a loyalty oath to the Constitution of the State of Michigan stands. He has coped Owen in to this corrspondence. On principle Vlastos cannot subscribe to coerced allegiance. He asks if any exemption can be made for him, as he is a Canadian not a US citizen.
