Scope and Contents
Originally two books. (1) 'A Treatise of the Court of Star Chamber,' in 3 principal divisions, by William Hudson, of Grays Inn, Esq. This Treatise is anonymous, but in a copy of it in the Harleian MSS. No. 1226 (British Library), is a note by Chief Justice Finch ascribing it to Hudson, and stating that that particular copy was in the handwriting of his son, Christopher Hudson, who presented it to him (Finch). (2) 'Justice Barkley's argument [in the case of ship-money] out of his owne coppy....
