Scope and Contents Nearly every parish in the diocese is represented in the records. There are citations, depositions and interrogations, also letters from incumbents or churchwardens to the Registrar of the Court commending persons cited to his interest or begging to be excused attendance on behalf of themselves or others. There are forms of confessions or penance, accounts and inventories. The dates of the papers lie between 1579 and 1674, though the majority belong to the years 1589-1596. Also included are...
