Fair copies of letters from Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, to general and foreign correspondents in China and other places regarding insurance, possibly relating to the Canton Insurance Office, including indexes of recipients.

Records described in the catalogue as being in a bad condition are in a fragile state that precludes them being made available to readers. Access is generally available to documents dated up to 1969. Fair copies of letters from Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, to Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, agents of the Alliance Assurance Co., Alliance Fire Assurance Office, Bengal Insurance Society, Bombay Insurance Society, Canton Insurance Office and Triton Insurance Co. Many of the letters are from Alexander Perceval.
