Abstract of case of Corpus Christi College in Cambridge and their lessees, assignee of Grantchester parsonage, with opinion of Charles Yorke., 1761-01-26 - 1761-05-12
The lessees are Lords Sandys and Archer, the tenant Dr Thomas Lawrence, as trustee for his brother, Charles Lawrence, who is mortgaged to Nathaniel Gibbons. The dispute centres on the size of the fine for renewal demanded by the college.

The question relates to the passageway from Bene't Street to Old Court which the college had started to dig up in order to lay a drain. The parish officers have claimed that the passageway is part of the churchyard and that they therefore have the right to the soil.
