The document certifies that Fletcher was John Langley's tutor, that tutor's are responsible for the pupils' debts, which Fletcher paid between Lady Day and Michaelmas 1573 , that the sum due is 50s 3½d, that John Rucke, B.A., had, at the request of William Langley, demonstrated this from the college books and that Langley had said that he would see the debt discharged.
