The land was formerly the estate of Robert Ablett, since of Mary Ablett, widow, and late of Eleanor French, sometime Eleanor Ablett, spinster. Mary Rowning, lately Mary Ablett, was admitted to the holding, amongst other things, at a court held on 21 June 1745 as heir of her sister Eleanor.
