English civil wars (1642-1651)

An anonymous account of the wars in Ireland during 1646-1647 written in the form of a letter, but unsigned. On fo. 1 are two seventeenth-century notes, the former of which reads: 'E. of C. advertisement of Ireland 1647'.
The volume includes the following: (fo. i) quotation from Cicero, De oratore; (fo. ii) dedication 'To the right honourable James Earl of Derby, Lord of Man and the Isles'; (fo. iii) prefatory letter to the Earl of Derby; (fo. iv) title; (fo. v) dedicatory letter to Dorothy, Countess of Burlington; (fo. 1) text; (fo. 26) postscript addressed to the same countess. Fo. 29 and most of the versos are blank.
