Alphabetical index to latin terms compiled by Robert Stonehouse. Also used as a commonplace book by William Balam, Registrar of the Diocese of Ely. Includes drafts of copies of letters, some concerning land disputes in and around Ely.

Scope and Contents Nearly every parish in the diocese is represented in the records. There are citations, depositions and interrogations, also letters from incumbents or churchwardens to the Registrar of the Court commending persons cited to his interest or begging to be excused attendance on behalf of themselves or others. There are forms of confessions or penance, accounts and inventories. The dates of the papers lie between 1579 and 1674, though the majority belong to the years 1589-1596. Also included are...

Scope and Contents Notebook of Samuel Bentham, 124 folios. Fos 1-49 consist chiefly of receipts, valuations and estimates of the vicarage dues of Witchford, the list of those who paid dues having been tabulated, apparently in anticipation, as far as the year 1731. The figures for the years 1724-1731 have been filled in by another hand after S. Bentham's death.
