180 x 103 mm. A mounted print, with a handwritten caption beneath which reads: 'Sorell causeway over the Pittwater (?) River, from the Bluff, Cambridge, Tasmania.' A view looking across the small causeway, along which runs a railway line, towards the Sorell side of the bay. The causeway, which crosses Pitt Water, thus allowing a straight route from Hobart to Sorell and thence on to the east coast of Tasmania, was started at the instigation of Governor Sir William Denison in 1854.
