350 x 274 mm. A view of the wide curve of the beach, with a small village on the far side, and high wooded hills in the distance. Port Stephens is the partly drowned estuary of the Karuah River, about 30 miles north of Newcastle, and a holiday resort for that area. Nelson Bay is situated on the inside of the south headland of the harbour, fairly near its mouth.
