221 x 147 mm. A view looking over a settlement of thatched huts towards a group of European buildings (? the Portuguese trading post) standing on the bank of the river at the left. The photograph is most probably of the village of Bom Jesus on the lower Cuanza, ten miles west-south-west of Catete.
