The Rogi Cliff, 1863

Scope and Contents 184 x 322 mm. Showing the same section of the cliff path as Y3022/17, but taken with Bourne's panoramic lens (see introduction) and presenting a narrow field of view. It is possible that this print does come from the earlier journey and that it was allocated a later negative number to keep it in sequence with the other Rogi photographs: a careful examination of the pathway reveals a more rudimentary structure than in the preceding print, and presumably the two almost identical views were...

Kibber was reached just after leaving Kioto and was of special interest to Dr Playfair on account of the wealth of fossils to be found in the area. Bourne no. 1459.
