Parkside Hospital for the Insane (West Front), near Adelaide, 1890
260 x 190 mm. A front view of the large stone building, with white dressed stone decorations, and large central tower. Probably designed by William Bennett Hayes, and now demolished. The building stood in what is now the eastern part of the Botanic Gardens.

Album of mostly 80 x 54 mm prints. There is a brief list describing items 1-98, which document the trip from Southampton to South Africa, travel in South Africa, and the visit to Southern Rhodesia. Many photos do not appear in the exact numerical order given in the listing. The rest of the images are uncaptioned, but their general locations have been identified by reference to the diary RCMS 353/1.

215 x 167 mm. A view looking along William Street with the Advertiser office in the foreground and the Post office behind. The foundation stone of the Post Office was laid by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1867 and the building was completed in 1872.
Prince Alfred Collegiate School, Adelaide, 1890

Public School, Grote Street, Adelaide, 1890
260 x 200 mm. A three-quarters front view of the single-storey stone building, built in the Gothic style with a central fleche. The school is situated on the South-East corner of Grote Street and Morphett Street, and was built in 1874. With school children standing outside the gate.
Railway Station Yard, Adelaide, 1890
260 x 200 mm. A view of the station from the line, showing several locomotives, with signals and sidings. Adelaide’s first railway station was built in 1856, but that building was incorporated into the larger station seen here in about 1876.

'Summary of the report on the Company's farm lands at 31 December 1879', 21 lithographed manuscript pages with a map. The report describes various plots with a view to housing or mining development within 10, 20, and 50 miles of Adelaide. The map includes circles indicating these distances.
St Peter’s Collegiate School, Adelaide, 1890
265 x 200 mm. A front view of the school buildings, with pupils standing outside. Designed by Henry Stuckley (1821-1851), it was completed after his death is about 1854.
Supreme Court House, Adelaide, 1890
260 x 200 mm. A front view of the court house. A building in rather heavy classical style standing in Victoria Square, it was erected in 1869 for the Local and Insolvency Courts and has been used as the Supreme Court since 1873.

View in Zoological Gardens, Adelaide: The Elder Rotunda, 1890
265 x 205 mm. A view towards the Rotunda, in front of which stands a man and two emus (blurred through movement). The Zoological Society was founded in 1878, originally as an acclimatization garden for the introduction of stock and fish. It was opened as a zoo in May 1883.
