Scope and Contents From the File: Contains prints the majority of which are circa 140 x 100 mm., with a few of smaller size; all larger ones are noted in the following list. They are contained in a lavishly inlaid and tooled album lettered on the front cover 'H.I.M. The King-Emperor of India's Shooting in the Nepalese Terai December, 1911' with the arms of Nepal above. There are no captions, and the following have been compiled from published works on the visit to India. King George V arrived in Nepal on 18 December 1911...

112 x 142 mm. A full length studio portrait of a man and a boy from Cape Coast (Castle), capital of Britain's Gold Coast possessions and situated between Sekondi, Takoradi and Accra. The man holds a bundle (?of cotton) tied to a string and wood framework.

Scope and Contents

Unpublished typescript and manuscript reminiscences of Tengely's service in West Africa, 134 pages, with 12 inserted photographs. The account describes Accra, Elmina, Abbeokuta, Ibadan, Sierra Leone and Benin, with particular reference to African traditions, ceremonies and beliefs. There is an accompanying letter from the author to the Royal African Society, 22 June 1939, and the Society's acknowledgement, 26 June 1939.
