6. Tanganyika Territory [i.e. Tanzania]. The Harbour, Dar es Salaam, 1924
The caption on the reverse continues 'Dar-es-Salaam, the seat of Government, is a modern town, and is the chief seaport and the coastal terminus of the railway. It is a well-laid-out town with spacious and well-built houses, and the avenues are lined with ornamental trees which give a mass of colour. This view shows the Anzani front and the Cathedral. Dar-es-Salaam means 'Haven of Peace''.
